Cristiaan Jackson, WORKING NOT WORKING X WHERE ARE THE BLACK DESIGNERS

GRAPHIC DESIGNER, ILLUSTRATOR

“This piece is a self portrait that reflects my current state of mind and thoughts on society. I feel like I'm living in a circus. Everyone wants to be the center of attention and will put on any sort of performance to gain the spotlight. I find it very difficult to keep up with the performance because I have no interest in being a part of it. It's very frustrating and bewildering when being my genuine self makes me feel like an outcast. . . In other words : Life is a circus, where everyone's a clown and I'm the bearded lady. Here, the tightrope is limp and the tent is kind of shady. No one dares to ride the unicycle even though our car only fits one man. I'm forced to eat seal for breakfast but at least it's better than lion from a can. Everyday someone pokes and prods at the tiger and it doesn't react. Is there anyone left to come save me from this endless juggling act?”

BLACK & BEWILDERED

“Bewildered describes my current state of mind. When I read the news or think about how our society currently functions, I become filled with various emotions. Anger, sadness, and sometimes happiness, but ultimately I'm just confused. Why do people choose hate, negativity, and to be fake when it's so much easier to love, be positive, and be genuine?”
