“Artistically I find much of my inspiration in the truth of nature. Plants take the toughest and strangest environments to grow in, and still find someway to showcase their beauty. I want to show through my work and business the beauty in living ones truth.”
BLACK & MULTIPLICITOUS
“In an interlude from Moses Sumney’s album ‘grae’, Taiye Selasi states “ I insist my right to be multiple. Even more so, I insist upon the recognition of my multiplicity. All things encompassed in one.”. This quote struck me with a feeling of understanding and relatability that I hadn’t felt in a long time. Being Black in the world comes as a precursor most of the time ; we are Black Artists, Black Business Owners and Black Scholars. This Black is beautiful, but to some it is comprehensive to who we are. We are Black, period. I am more than aware that myself and my people are so much more, and therefore I demand that fact be acknowledged, respected, and embraced.”
