BELLE VICKERS-GRAVER

Belle Vickers-Graver, WORKING NOT WORKING X WHERE ARE THE BLACK DESIGNERS

ILLUSTRATOR

“This A4 piece, titled "moonlight", was created using gouache paint and paint pens. Like all of my artwork, it was inspired by a strong desire to represent all of the beautiful black women in my life. "Moonlight" hopes to capture a familiar sense of serenity, self-love, and comfort.”

BLACK & BRIGHT

“From a young age I have always found myself conflicted between my academic and creative talents, and have had difficulty attempting to shrink myself to fit within a single box. Over the years, however, I have come to realize that my artistry is just as valuable as my scholarship. I am proud of myself for breaking the stereotypes of what it means to be a black woman by perfecting, developing, and exhibiting my artistic style whilst simultaneously achieving a Master of Science degree. I shine bright in both areas of my life.”
