“This piece was created after hearing the “Peng Black Girls” track. As a reminder that the focus is about black empowerment and black celebration, regardless of what the outside approves or not. It’s about us, for us, by us, with us. So I drew a sista with her kanekalon braids, telfar bag, fendi slides and a Walmart tracksuit. It’s not just about brands because we make the brand. Also she has an ice coffee because it takes a lot of energy to be out here creating the wave.”
