NATHANIEL RHODES
artist, GRAPHIC DESIGNER, ILLUSTRATOR
βIn painting this I wanted to capture the feelings of anger, confusion, and frustration that black men, or men of different ethnic backgrounds feel in the face of systemic racism. Not having the luxury to be carefree, and engage in conventional activities that others enjoy because of the fact that it might cost us our lives. Simple tasks, such as going for a jog, or driving to work have resulted in the deaths of innocent black men, because of hatred, and racism. Know that when I paint I am being transparent about the way it feels to exist, while trying to live.β
