“Art is my way of communicating with myself and the world around me. So I like to use my environment as source material. I like to use bold colors, tropical scenes, and simple shapes to honor my Jamaican heritage, and Miami upbringing. Also, growing up as Black woman in a world that seems to romanticize everything but this identity, depicting Black women in my art is my way of rejecting that.”

Growing older I've learned to love my identity, and that I wouldn't trade my experience for anything.The art I make is a rejection of those feelings, a rejection of a society riddled with misogynoir. An unapologetic and whole acceptance of myself.”
